It’s been all quiet on the blog from because I’ve been on holiday… a trip to France to celebrate my sister’s 50th birthday: Happy Birthday Jo!
I’m a bit frazzled so, rather than write a long post, I thought I would share with you a few of the things we encountered.
We found a five-headed smoke-breathing dragon in Blois:
A steeple with antlers in Amboise:
An exciting adjustable rain diverter on a drainpipe at the Auberge de Launay:
A turf roof at the factory in Nontron where traditional knives are made:
We watched the sun set on the Canal du Midi, whilst Daubenton’s bats caught insects over the water:
We found another dragon at Carcassonne:
There were great places to buy wine:
Plus we saw some amazing feats of engineering:
What a trip!

/ June 25, 2013Carcassonne was fascinating – I’d love to see more of the region, but we were on our way down the Canal du Midi, so were on a schedule!

/ June 25, 2013What a great set of pics, I love all the dragons, and that last bridge, spectacular! Clearly that was your boat parked out in front of the ‘cave’. 😉

/ June 25, 2013Yes, that was our boat – in a very convenient parking place!
The dragons were great – the windows opened and they emerged every half hour along with accompanying sound effects. I think that we watched them five times in total!
