Nearly there

The Masterpiece is nearly complete, although I could accept a couple more squares if anyone has one to send. There has been a little flurry of contributions recently and so it looks like the finished blanket is going to be 9×9. My original intention was to stitch it all together in the next couple of weeks, but I have some other work to do, so it is not going to be completed until after the middle of June (hence the leeway for extra squares). I’ve been very busy writing up my portfolio for my permaculture diploma, which explains the lack of additions to the page showing all the squares. If you have sent me one recently, I promise that it will get its own entry very soon.

In the mean time, here are the ones waiting to be incorporated:

All awaiting an edge before they go into the blanket

All awaiting an edge before they go into the blanket

There are squares here from two fellow diploma apprentices, my tutor, two old friends, one new friend and one from Mr Snail-of-Happiness, who had to learn to knit in order to contribute!

I love the variety and all the creativity that has gone into making each and every one of these.

Oh, how wonderful! Thrilled that Mr S-o-H is held in the blanket too!

  2. I take it the L plate from Mr S-o-H? That makes me smile, Wish I could knit or crochet a contribution, but those are skills I’m going to have to learn at another point in my life. I DID find some lovely alpaca wool to send you, but postage was 5 x the cost of the wool, so I baulked. 😦

    • It is… his choice!
I have been really shocked how much postage costs! My overseas contributors have been very generous considering this additional financial burden. Just keep writing your posts about Peru… they are an inspiration for me!

  4. How lovely your husband has contributed, I think that’s just gorgeous 🙂 It reminded me of my father knitting – my mother would do all the shaping for our cardis and Dad would do the straight bits…I can appreciate now that that was pretty sweet for a rugged, hard working man like my Dad.

  5. I would send you a square but as it would be heading your way “snail mail” it would probably get there June 2015! 😉

  7. Let me guess, Mr SoH’s square is the one with the L for Learner on it…? I just love the shaggy one, too! Considering that he’s part of the support structure for this project, it’s very fitting that he should have a contribution in there. But I’m curious about the phrasing… He had to learn to knit, or he HAD to learn to knit?! Was he asked, or told…?

  9. I think the L is for Love . . . 🙂 My square is not nearly done yet, but it will come your way one day. If it’s too late, I hope you will make a matching pillow (then Narf7 could send a square, too). I’m excited about seeing it finished, in any case. ~ Linne
