Wovember warmth

We have nearly reached the end of this busy month. After this post I will only have two more to go to complete a full month of blogging every day. This morning, a couple of days early, Mr Snail reached his NaNoWriMo target of writing 50,000 words of a novel in November. And, I have just finished one of my Wovember projects: the Spatterdash Wrist Warmers made using yarn from Burrow&Soar. In fact the knitting was finished a few days ago, but then came the blocking:

and the two hours it took today to sew on 24 beautiful, antique, black glass buttons:

I’m delighted by the finished work. The yarn is lovely colours and, combined with the fancy pattern, it has created a series of rainbows. I’m also really pleased to have used some of these buttons, which I bought without a project in mind.

Now I just need to work up that Portland yarn I unravelled earlier in the month…

Love your wrist warmers with stunning buttons! The yarn is so lovely! Just think how amazing it is to make stuff with just “sticks” and string! Makes my heart sing!

Congrats on the blog posting and the NaNoWriMo! Very ambitious!

  5. Oh these are fantastic – and the knitting theme ties in with my day…
Ironically I bought my first pair of wrist warmers today, not as beautifully designed as yours of course.
Great job on all the blogging Mrs Snail. 😉

Your wrist warmers turned out beautifully, lovely colours and the black buttons are spot on. I looked at the pattern thinking I’d make these for my granddaughters, but since they live thousands of miles away and I don’t really know their tastes, I settled for delicious alpaca and silk yarn and a fairly plain pattern. I’ve been impressed that you’ve blogged every day, I wish it was catching 🙂

    • The blogging has not been entirely easy and I think I’ll need a few days off, but I wanted to keep Mr Snail company whilst he was writing, so it seemed like a good idea!
The silk and alpaca yarn sounds lovely.

  7. Gorgeous, and suitably cosy for the forthcoming weather. What a labour to sew on all those buttons, but so worth it. Congratulations to both you and Mr SoH on achieving your blogging/ writing milestones, it’s been a real treat for us to hear from you every day.

  8. They are lovely, and the buttons are just right. I love fingerless mittens. They are perfect for keeping hands warm but allowing fingers to do their things!

  9. Aren’t those pretty! Are they really as soft as the look, too?

Congratulations on your daily blogs this month. I blogged every day for one year and there were days when I didn’t think I could pull it off. It was great discipline though, and a good way to challenge myself.
