As usual I’m joining with Emily of Nerd in the Brain (and others) for Three Things Thursday’. As she says…
*three things that make me smile: an exercise in gratitude – feel free to steal this idea with wild abandon and fill your blog with the happy*
This week, everything is hand-crafted…
First, a new tea cosy. The old one had started to disintegrate, so I whipped this one up, complete with pompom in a spare hour or two.

Purple and a little bit sparkly
Second, lovely new (well, I’ve had them a few weeks) scissors made by Ernest Wright & Son Ltd. The company only make scissors and they have been doing so, by hand, since 1902.

I couldn’t resist the design
Third, new purses. These were crafted by a new friend I made when I visited London. I liked them so much, I ordered two, a big one and a small one… she even personalised the small one for this happy snail!
So, those are three things making me smile this week – what about you?

/ September 22, 2016I’m working on 3 designs, they are progressing, they are making me happy. Oh, and Tiny, the cute paper hoggie Steve made for me. She makes me very happy. (Can I have 4 things please?)

/ September 22, 2016You can have 33 things if you like. I loved the hedgie – I knew in advance what he was making, but I didn’t realise what a work of art it was going to be (although I should have guessed!)

/ September 22, 2016Those scissors are awesome! Anything that is hand-crafted is a bonus in my book. Makes what you have unique in that each one is slightly different, stark contrast to today’s mass produced products.

/ September 22, 2016I really try hard to buy from small makers… I’m not a very big consumer, though as I love to keep things and mend them and treasure them. I’m never going to be popular with the capitalists!

/ September 22, 2016Don’t worry about not being popular, an economy built on capitalism isn’t sustainable when most of the goods come from other countries. They don’t like me either, I’m an in-progress minimalist and only buy and use what I need with very little excess.

/ September 22, 2016I have a pair of stork scissors and adore them – they are a pleasure to hold and work with! I love your sparkly tea cosy and your new purses! Sometimes a delightful treat for oneself is just the way to go 🙂

/ September 22, 2016I’m grateful for my very comfortable bed, I’m grateful for my poor hardworking Husband, who is on his weary way home after a 12 hour night shift, and I’m grateful that having found my favourite ancient shirt came out of the washing machine with multiple rips in it, I have the skills to recycle it into something lovely 🙂

/ September 29, 2016After feeling rather uninspired about blogging recently, this is a good way to make sure I post at least once a week

/ October 1, 2016I was just discussing this on another blog. I go through uninspired periods myself, or simply feel that no one is interested in what I have to say. It doesn’t help when I’m busy, either, as it’s harder to construct a post with photos that I hope might be interesting. I’m glad you’re still here.

/ October 1, 2016I’m trying to hatch a plan involving guest bloggers and themed months, which may give me a bit more momentum. I know if I post every day I get loads of traffic through the site, but as you say it’s so time-consuming and sometimes I feel others aren’t really interested, especially when all I can think to write about is my latest harvest from the limery or garden!
