Bag a bag

In the spirit of my last post, I’ve decided to spread a little more happiness by having a give-away. I’m offering you the opportunity to be the proud owner of one of the items that I made for our craftivism exhibition. The embroidery is for sale in my etsy shop, but I’ve decided to give away the “Ditch the plastic bag” bag:

IMGP2967

the bag on display

It is made from a repurposed t-shirt, with the message appliqued in felt. Bags like this are, unsurprisingly, quite stretchy, so are not ideal for lugging pounds of spuds home from the greengrocers, but are great for lighter items, such as yarn, tea and biscuits!

it could be yours

I am happy to send this anywhere in the world. If you would like to be entered into the draw to win it, simply comment below, or in the post on the Snail of Happiness Facebook page, or on Twitter (@thesnailofhappy), and tell me what you’d like to put in the bag if you win it. I will include any comments left before midnight on Tuesday 13 June (BST) in the draw.

Good luck!

I love this. I would put my yarn in it, as I’m a bit of a craftivist myself!

  2. How exciting! I would take it shopping to spread the word.

I would follow your suggestion and use it for carrying tea and biscuits, or cookies, as we call them here, One of our local stores even carries Yorkshire Gold, which I drink all the time.

  4. Love the bag and the sentiment. I have so many fabric grocery/book/stuff bags now I will never need another…but will probably make another soon. Who needs plastic?

  5. I use a bag to carry my other fabric shopping bags in when I go shopping. This would become that bag! I.E. a bag to carry a bag!

  6. PS this is a really nice gesture, and I would use it as a template to make other bags.

I’m planning on doing some plant shopping in the near future. Don’t you think a daisy would look great in the bag and in my garden? I do.

  8. Since I already carry two folding fabric shopping bags and a Snail-made crochet bag, I’m going to pass on this one, but I’m applauding the sentiment!

  9. What a lovely gesture! I have so many cloth bags and a couple of baskets that I really require no more, so will gladly leave a space for someone else to win a wonderful Snail project ❤

I would use it proudly to pick up a few (light) items when out shopping to help provoke plastic bag free thinking. I’ve admired this bag since I read your post featuring it. I’d be honoured to carry it on my shoulder to help spread the word around Ceredigion and further afield.

  11. I have a bunch of small tools that go with my band loom and they currently live in a . . . plastic bag (shameful, I know). I’d love to store them in your bag instead!
