Three Things Thursday: 13 July 2017

My weekly exercise in gratitude – three things that are making me smile – feel free to steal this idea with wild abandon and fill your blog [or Twitter account or Facebook page or diary or life in general] with happiness.

First, being busy. You may have noticed the absence of posts this past week. It’s because I have been very busy. I’ve had two full days out felting, I’ve had a friend over for a crochet lesson (and cake), I’ve been out for breakfast, I’ve been out for lunch, I’ve even been shopping this week. It’s rare that I spend so much time out of the house, but it’s nice once in a while.

Second, berries. I listed red currants as one of my three things last week. We still have more of those to come, but this morning I had blueberries and raspberries for my breakfast… plus the red gooseberries are ripening up. And not only are they delicious, they are also really good for you.

Third, baking. The hens are busy laying lots of eggs at this time of year, so it is very much cake season. The current one is a chocolate cake.

So, those are three things making me smile this week. What is making you happy?

Funnily ebough I got this post when I came in from meeting another member of the Permaculture network for lunch in town. She is someone I do not know well but we both wanted to get to know each other better. Yesterday I met someone I know rather better for lunch in a differnet town. I rarely go out for meals unless to someone’s home so this has been a real treat and I am so pleased to have friends and to be making new ones. Off now to pick loganberries I hope – that is if the birds have not had them all!

    • Gosh, I haven’t had loganberries for years. I hope you manage to beat the birds to them.
Funny how social activities all seem to pile up together. We are off out for lunch tomorrow too. After that I think I might take a few days to recover!

Boy oh boy, my mouth was watering as I read this post. Berries and chocolate cake? Deliciousness! Sounds like you had a fun week, which we all need. I’m a firm believer in fun.
And hard work, too, of course. In concert with each other 😉

Totally have chocolate cake envy here too – and your blueberries are ahead of ours, though we have had a few raspberries. 🙂

  5. This week, it’s antibiotics, delicious Gippsland yoghurt, and 69% cacao from Chocolat Frey, one of the few chocolates I’m able to eat. They do a rather decent version with caramel and sea salt….
