Armadillo

I collect patterns for items that I’d like to make, but I often don’t actually make them until I have a home in mind since I’m trying to avoid accumulating too much more ‘stuff’ around the place.

I have wanted to make one of these for ages, but it was only recently that I realised it would make a prefect present for a friend  who is not feeling too bright at the moment. I’ve just heard that it has reached it’s destination, so now I can share it with you…

It’s made from 100% British wool, from two small producers: the pale wool is a mix including Lincolnshire Longwool from The Inkpot and the dark is Jacob’s wool from Tavistock Tastes and Textures.

If you want to make one of your own, the pattern is by the fabulous Kati Galusz and you can find it here and if you don’t crochet, there is a knitted version by Gabrielle Thériault here (NB I haven’t tried this one).

Have you made anything recently to cheer up a friend?
