A very small ScrapHappy this month.
Mr Snail has a friend at work who’s just got a rescue cat… a poor kitty who has, so far, spent its life living in a garage. It now has a much more pampered existence and so I thought that it deserved a little present. I dug out at bit of scrap yarn and created little mousey:
No pattern, I just made it up as I went along. Its eyes and nose were made of a tiny length of left-over sock yarn and it’s filled with (new) wool filling. I hope kitty enjoys it.

I’ve been inspired to write this (and future) ScrapHappy posts by Kate, Tall Tales from Chiconia. On the fifteenth of every month lots of other folks often publish a ScrapHappy post, do check them out:
Kate, Gun, Titti, Heléne, Eva, Sue, Nanette, Lynn, Lynda,
Birthe, Turid, Susan, Cathy, Debbierose, Tracy, Jill, Claire, Jan (me), Karen,
Moira, Sandra, Linda, Chris, Nancy, Alys, Kerry, Claire, Jean, Johanna,
Joanne, Jon, Hayley, Dawn, Gwen, Connie, Bekki and Sue
If you fancy joining, contact Kate and she’ll add you to the list. It would be lovely to see more non-sewing posts, but any use of scraps is welcome.

/ June 15, 2019I like the scrap happy idea. Does a whole ball of wool from a friend count as scrap? I’ve just made a pair of socks from it… my first pair of socks and one foot is too tight, so I’m going to redo it.

/ June 15, 2019What a lovely idea. Our Chochi spent most of her 12 years before she adopted us being kicked outside and ignored. It’s taken her this long to actually come and sit with us. That’s with us, not on us, not yet…
So making Mr Mousey for the cat is lovely. I hope he/she learns to play. Chochi is still working on that bit.
You are lovely. 🙂

/ June 16, 2019What you need to get the cat interested in the toy is some catnip. I’ve got a few plants spare which I’ve grown from seed, you could give a home to one of those and then add a few dried leaves to the stuffing of any future toys.

/ June 16, 2019Maybe that kitty just hasn’t had the chance to learn how to relax and play yet? How fortunate it is to have a good home now–and special toys.

/ June 17, 2019So cute! Sometimes cats just don’t appreciate what we do for them. He’s probably playing with it at night in secret – they’re crafty like that 😼
