Now we are 10

Apparently today is my 10 year anniversary of starting this blog… how far we have come. From an idea to write about sustainability and sharing some of the projects for my Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design to opening a shop – who would have thought? Along the way, I’ve got to know some truly amazing bloggers and found some firm friends. I’ve mourned the passing of some important people in my life – my dad, my PhD supervisor, my statistics mentor, and dear Pauline, who blogged as The Contented Crafter – and I’ve celebrated successes – being awarded my Diploma, learning to crochet and, most recently, opening the shop.

Thank you for reading my random musings, and for joining me on this journey. So, to celebrate, here are a few pictures from the past 10 years.

I hope I’ll be here for the next 10 years.

  5. So do we all! So many of those images are familiar; I think I’ve been along for the majority of the ride. It has been lovely to see Chez Snail evolve, to see your progress through life and the various changes of ideas and direction you’ve shared with us. I’m waiting with much excitement to hear about ‘TSOH – The Shop’ and all its doings. Congratulations!

    • Now I’m getting used to the new routine, I should have more time to write again. I keep starting posts and not finishing them, but I plan to set aside time each week now to produce at least one post… and there will, of course, be another this week for ScrapHappy.

  7. My favourite pic is the last one on the right. Whatever you were saying was either very important or very funny – or perhaps both

      • It’s worked out really well so far, and much better than I thought. It really is true, that sometimes our thoughts are well out of order. Therefore, it’s always better to question persistent negative thoughts.

  9. Happy blogiversary!! I think I’ve been following almost from the beginning 🤔 this is still my most inspirational (and quite frankly useful) blog to follow. I often try implementing energy/waste reducing things you have thought to do (such as filling the thermos with hot water so I boil the kettle less often during the day, repairing, buying second hand etc etc) in our home.
    Also love how you write.
Thank you for sharing your sustainability journey with us!

Hear Hear! Congratulations Mrs Snail! I discovered your blog around the time of the Aardvarks, I think (I was researching sustainable minimalism). I absolutely love the colourful ingenious crafting that fills your pages, as well as all the wonderful ideas for sustainable living – your ‘using up fruit glut’ photos inspired me to make my own jam for the first time ever, and I’ve never looked back 🙂
Here’s to another colourful 10 years – cheers to you & everyone here who make this such a calm & special place to visit.
One day, if I ever make it back to Wales, I will certainly look for your shop!
      Warmest wishes, Nikki.
